Having music in peertube would be nice, but I think the artist would have to have some kind of paywall or a Patreon…

Well I’ve always been able to access it with Firefox, but their website always has an awfuly difficult behavior.
I remember that once I had to go through 10 captchas to log in…

When working properly, my Go 1 is perfect and I don’t need more power. So I wouldn’t want to get rid of it and would prefer solving the problem.
But, if one day it dies, I would try to find something more Linux friendly, even if using Microsoft or Apple devices to do something they were not designed for is also quite nice😅

I’ve never heard of btop but I can look at it👍
But wouldn’t it be weird for it to be temperature related when the computer was just started and unplugging/plugging the external screen solve the issue? This would make think it’s display related no?

Yeah I guess you’re right, my last chance of solving the problem could be by creating a spreadsheet with as much data as possible on every occurrence…
I don’t think it would be a thrilling investigation though😅
What are IO and Iotop?

So here should I just delete the Boxtron part?

Apparently DOSBox Staging still has some data on the Deck. Should I delete it too?

Apparently the BIOS is up to date even if my knowledge about these is quite limited…
About something dying in the computer, it would be surprising as it has been like this for the last 4 years and only happens maybe once a month after starting…

I guess I should have said it before, but it happens when starting the computer, sometimes a week after an update, so I don’t think it’s heat related. Especially because it sometimes solves itself after unplugging/plugging the external monitor through USB-C.

I’d say ifixit and (sadly) YouTube. Maybe one day we’ll be able to add Lemmy and Peertube to the list🙏

Heroic is fine enough for me except that I would want it to have background downloads on Steam Deck and better achievements integration.
If we get this, I don’t need anything official from GOG even if more official Linux support is always welcome😇

I’m trying to buy around 50% of my games on GOG and the other 50% on Steam.
Clearly the ease of use award goes to Steam, especially on Linux.
Gog is still okay thanks to Heroic but it is a commitment with no background downloading on Steam Deck and slow downloads.
I guess we, gamers, only have to make sure that Valve still has competition so that they can’t just turn evil.
For now, I really appreciate how Valve is supporting Linux and I appreciate how GOG understand that we want to own our games and play them forever.

Oh I fully agree with you that older games should be cheaper.
Although I can also understand that it’s a question of supply and demand.
As players what we can do is vote with our wallets.

Well I did everything through the app manager (Discover), so I don’t know how I could have made mistake…

I guess I just deleted DOSBox stagging/Boxtron after noticing that they were not needed…To be honest, I was a bit lost.

How do you that? Should I reinstall Dosbox stagging just to get rid of these messages?

Yeah they probably have a bigger input on this.
But have a promotion on a game while still having the same anount of money going to the devs/publisher, would mean GOG is taking the hit.
I guess it’s difficult to judge as we don’t know how the industry works…

Well I’m not sure GOG is deciding about the price of a game. Maybe GOG is just taking a commission but the game developer or publisher is still the one deciding about what price to sell the game for…

Do you have an example of such a game? No reduction after 10 years sounds really weird.

Organic Maps works well enough for me. Even for car travelling through Apple Car Play it’s reliable enough. I don’t know if there are better alternatives, but I can vouch for this one.
I only miss satellite pictures to facilitate my navigation as the map can be a bit too abstract…
RetroDeck has the advantage of being a Flatpak and not needing Deckyloader plugin if you’re using a Steam Deck.
I’ve had a great experience with it👍
