I’d say 50% of gross profit, or 50% of net worth, or 50% of stock valuation, which ever (whichever?) is highest, plus 90% of C-level and Board compensation.
After the first couple companies go tits up from these kinds of fines, the industry will start paying attention, especially the C-level, as they have the most to lose.
Put another zero behind the number and then it’s a start.
0290 million? ;)
But, yeah, that seems trivial to them.
€290,000,000.000
3 useless decimal places that only help in deceiving the reader into mistaking it for a 1000’th separator. I hate it.
I assume every EU country’s data protection agency can fine them individually?
No I think only the country where the company has their EU headquarters
Dd they tell uber to reverse the data transfer or is the cat out of the bag?
How would one un-transfer data? The data could be destroyed. I guess if they centralized everything in the US, they could transfer the current version of any records if they were not in the EU already.
