  • The short-stay accommodation provider has been fined $15 million for breaching consumer law, and will pay $400,000 towards the ACCC’s costs.

  • Airbnb will also spend about $15 million to compensate more than 63,000 affected customers.

    If Deloitte, who is managing the claim payments, determines that you are entitled to a refund you will receive an email and SMS from Airbnb to log in to your account. They’re expecting a lot of scams around the claim so make sure any correspondence is legit through your Airbnb account only.
