This is terrible, and Russia should be punished for it.

The correct way of influencing Spanish-speaking countries is to install fascist puppet dictatorships. Arming and bank-rolling right-wing militias is also accepted, you won’t be getting DW articles about that.

Lol, this is straight up bullshit, there’s no fucking source for anything, it’s not even an article, it’s a video where its “proof” is that some Spanish speakers called Ukrainians nazis (disculpenos yanquis si aca en latinoamerica no nos tragamos la mierda a palazos como lo hacen en el norte) and then goes on to CITE EXPERTS AND THEY SHOW A CLIP OF ANOTHER OF THEIR VERY OWN VIDEOS AND YOU’RE TELLING ME RUSSIANS ARE SPREADING DISINFORMATION BY JESUS CHRIST.

Ofc it is, it was very typical for the comment to be very similar on r/Europe, r/Spain or r/anime_titties. This agenda of the reddit experience being sooo bad is not good for the community.

“Russia has been bringing propaganda to its war effort in Ukraine well beyond its borders. With over 500 million speakers, Spanish is a key language for Russian propaganda, and now Russia’s narrative is getting exposure in sympathetic Spanish voices.”

There’s nothing inherently bad about propaganda. The problem with Russian propaganda is that it’s trying to justify a brutal invasion that has killed hundreds of thousands of people, among them children buried in rubble by missile strikes. The US did the same after it’s invasion of Iraq. It was wrong then and it’s wrong now.

The US has been using propaganda to justify its atrocities, genocides, mass murders, environmental devastations, scores of violent coups, invasions, use of chemical and nuclear weapons against civilians, torture, enslavement, human trafficking, war profiteering, and massive body count for over a century. Far worse, for far longer, and far more deadly than anything Russia or the USSR has ever done.

You’re right that propaganda is inherently neutral. When Euro-centric news outlets complain about Russian propaganda, it’s completely and utterly without standing, as most of them are part of the US propaganda machine in big or small ways. These complaints are worthy of nothing but ridicule.

Sure, let’s just take the German voice of state propaganda at its word about Russian propaganda. That’s gone super well in the past.
