Nice to see Piastri show what he can do, and no doubt he’ll learn from the re-start experience — although I suspect Max would have had the pace to get past eventually in any case. Good for Gasly and Alpine also.
Harsh penalty for Lewis — I’m with Brundle on that one.
I am not. Lewis was not fully along side. Made contact, had room to spare, broke the other car. I don’t think he would get the 5sec when Perez car was intact.
That he broke the other car has no influence on the penalty, thus damage or not, he was getting the penalty.
The penalty was borderline race incident. I like to think the stewards are more lenient when there is no damage.
I notice that the community is often dead during the sprint races. Any reason behind that¿?
Are you talking about here on Lemmy? Or un general?
Here on lemmy
I think in general, people care a bit less about the sprints. Plus, we’re still building up the community here on lemmy. Guess we should give it some time
For me i don’t dislike them, it’s just too many moments on the weekend to keep track…
General engagement numbers have dropped off a little since the initial Lemmigration. I suspect it’ll improve over time. Also, it’s in the middle of the day on Saturday. A load of people will not stay at home both days of the weekend to watch F1.

Really not a fan of sprint races, they were a fun idea but now I just think that they take away from the actual gp.
“A surprise top three” – I assume you were not surprised to see Max there! 😅
Well that was better entertainment than a practice session, particularly with the drying track. The wet tyres are still a joke.
Hamilton’s penalty seemed harsh.
This sprint race was quite entertaining
