Saw an integrative doctor for the second time, the first time I saw her she was pretty kind. This time they were really pushing the Gupta program/brain retraining. I said I had read about it and am not open to it as I believe it is a scam that preys on vulnerable people. She became extremely rude when I challenged her on it, said people who don’t improve have “the victim mentality” and if I don’t believe in it 100% to not even try it but I’ll never get better. No way I am trying it, but how do you guys cope with this insane gaslighting from doctors. The craziest part is she seemed so nice until I challenged her.
I have felt so horrible all day after this appointment, as she really made me feel like I am choosing to be sick and missing out on this “miracle program.” She also said I need to not consume anything besides comedy for at least 6 months, further implying this isn’t a real condition and I am just sensitive. Going to report her but would love advice on how to cope with these types of interactions…
tldr: doctor said I am choosing not to get better by not doing brain retraining and was very cruel
