Hey Dungeoneers, Shattered v2.5.0 has been released!
v2.5.0 includes a total overhaul to the journal, some new trinkets, and tonnes of smaller tweaks and balance changes. There are also new splash arts for each of the dungeons regions, viewable during loading screens! Be sure to check the changes screen for full details.
I think a bunch of people will be sad to find out bomb identification is no more. It was quite useful but alas. Those that were aware of the technique can probably make do I presume.
Hopefully they stick around! Some of them seemed pretty upset about the change! I think Evan is right that people had become too dependent on the exploit and weren’t willing to try on unidentified items or look for other strategies to deal with them.
Is this over on Reddit or something? I didn’t know people were voicing their opinions already. I would’ve guessed that those who knew about this are well equipped with many other tactics to beat the game that they would be fine.
Yeah it was over on Reddit. There was quite a large discussion about it. Some (including me) are glad to see it go (I had all my equipment blown up by traps one time because I threw it all down a pit; now that’s no longer an issue).
Others called it a “core mechanic” of the game that they use every run!
Shit, I am with them! I just learned about it and it’s been helpful.
Loving the random trinket 4th option!
Awesome! When will the new badges show up as achievements on steam? I don’t see them in the locked achievements section.
Give me another 15 minutes or so and they will.
I really like that you can backout of upgrading now without being punished and that you see the stats. I do miss bomb ID but I guess I will live
I updated through the playstore, and I missed the Beta 5. Was there anything important there?
I see the Salt Cube got some sort of buff, but aside from that, what else changed?
Yeah unfortunately play store users largely skipped beta-5 and rc-1. Aside from lots of bugfixes and small tweaks, the two most significant gameplay changes were:
- Salt Cube extra satiety increased to 25% per level, from 12.5%.
- Salt Cube health regen reduction adjusted to 30/50/65/75%, from 25/50/75/100%.
- Added a 4th trinket crafting option, which gives a random trinket
I see, thank you for the answer
And thanks for your hard work, I’m really enjoying this patch.
